About The Event

With the booming Asian economy, more global companies are interested in business opportunities in Asia. There are drastic differences between Eastern and Western users in terms of language, cognitive styles, and cultures. This talk provides an overview of the culture difference between Asia (especially China) and the Western world, and discusses further the implication of these differences on user interface design, communication, and business operation. Real-world examples were used to illustrate the differences. This is especially beneficial for global companies to expand their business into Asian marketplaces. The audience will learn from the talk:

  • Language, cognitive styles, and culture difference theories
  • Explore real-world examples to understand the difference
  • Design, communication, and business consideration due to the culture differences
